Jackson McDonald's Robert McKenzie appointed to Takeovers Panel2 September 2014
Jackson McDonald is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Robert McKenzie to the Takeovers Panel.
The panel is a peer review body, with part?time members appointed from the active members of Australia’s takeovers and business communities. The panel serves to provide an efficient and expeditious process of regulating takeovers in Australia.
Mr Robert McKenzie has over 35 years experience in the corporate and commercial areas of law. Before joining Jackson McDonald Robert was a longstanding partner in a major national law firm and then founder of boutique firm McKenzie Moncrieff.
Robert has acted on a number of Australia’s most significant listed company reconstructions and was national chair of the Law Council of Australia’s Committee in the area. He has also chaired the Law Society of Western Australia’s Commercial Law Committee and WA’s sub-committee of the Law Council of Australia’s Corporate Law Committee.
Robert is a founding member of the International Insolvency Institute, was a representative of the UNCITRAL working group on cross border insolvency in Vienna and taught part-time at the University of Western Australia for 10 years.
His term is for a period of three years up to and including 20 August 2017.
Three other members Mr Lee Dewhirst, Mr Byron Koster and Mr Andrew Lumsden have also been appointed, taking the total number panel members to 41.
