Alana is a commercial lawyer with a particular focus on the indigenous and the not-for-profit sectors.
Alana has existing relationships with a number of indigenous organisations and is involved in providing them with regular advice, particularly in relation to the interpretation of Rulebooks, constitutions and trust deeds, corporate governance, the development of policies and procedures and compliance with agreements, legislative and regulatory requirements.
Alana has experience in the establishment, operation and governance of commercial entities and trusts that are responsible for managing financial benefits arising from native title agreements. In the course of this work, Alana has assisted indigenous corporations with the implementation of their agreements with government and major resource companies. Alana often facilitates meetings in the Kimberley and Pilbara with traditional owner groups and indigenous organisations.
Within the not-for-profit sector, Alana has experience providing advice on corporate structure, corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
