Brendan is a mining and finance specialist with significant direct experience working in the mining industry.
Brendan has recently returned to Perth from Hong Kong, where he was a partner in a leading international law firm. During his nine years in Asia, he worked for a range of international natural resources groups, banks and corporate clients in complex cross-border transactions across Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Americas.
Brendan has a longstanding involvement in mining. Raised in WA’s Goldfields, he worked directly in the industry for a decade before becoming a lawyer. This experience allows him to underpin legal advice to mining clients with a strong practical understanding of the sector’s nuances. He acts for mining companies, contractors, service providers and suppliers in the development, financing, operation and divestment of projects.
Brendan’s other practice focus is banking and finance, in which he has regularly advised several leading global banks and large corporates in general lending, project finance, trade finance and debt restructuring matters.
Legal 500 Asia Pacific recently recommended Brendan as being "noted for his ability to understand his clients’ needs from a commercial perspective".
He is a member of several industry bodies, including AMPLA and, notably, is one of the very few lawyers admitted to the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM).
