Associate Lawyer - Real Estate

We are seeking an Associate with 4-5 years of post-admission experience to join our Real Estate practice group. 

We look for talented people who demonstrate the core competencies required for success – strong communication skills; the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment; excellent technical and drafting skills; and a demonstrated commerciality and client focus.

In this client facing role, you will have the opportunity to be heavily involved in advising a wide range of our clients across a diverse range of areas within the real estate and land development sector.

This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with our three commercial property Partners Bianca McGoldrick, Lance Hilton-Barber and Fabrice Lincoln, to learn from their experience and to contribute with your initiative and hands-on approach, as well as mentor junior practitioners within the team. 

About you

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:  

• 4 - 5 years of post-admission experience working as a property lawyer in WA;
• Strong technical skills, including proven experience and legal knowledge in areas such as:
  • due diligence;
  • preparation and negotiation of contracts to buy and sell property;
  • undertaking settlements, including on PEXA;
  • preparation of off the plan strata contracts;
  • commercial, industrial and retail leasing (landlord and tenant); 
  • land development, particularly subdivision; 
  • drafting easements and restrictive covenants;
  • retirement villages; and
  • urban renewal projects. 
• Confidence with speaking publicly, with clients or with other lawyers.
