Briony is a dedicated advocate who specialises in finding pragmatic solutions to complex legal problems.
Practising in both ‘front end’ and ‘back end’ construction law, Briony balances the robust pursuit of her clients’ entitlements with practicality and a thorough understanding of their commercial needs.
Briony acts for clients at all tiers of the construction industry and across a variety of sectors, including residential, commercial, civil and mining. She regularly assists with the preparation, review and negotiation of contracts in the early stages of projects; advises on contract administration and commercial matters whilst works are underway; and acts and advocates for clients when contractual relationships become difficult to manage.
Briony has experience in all Western Australian Courts and Tribunals, and regularly engages in alternative dispute resolution processes, including adjudications under the Building and Construction Industry (Security of Payment) Act 2021 (WA), the Construction Contracts (Former Provisions) Act 2004 (WA), and security of payment legislation in other jurisdictions. She has a particular interest in projects concerning heritage listed buildings and the creation of a sustainable built environment.
