Luke is a commercial and corporate lawyer with a particular focus on M&A, corporate transactions, venture capital and private business.
Luke is an expert in all aspects of corporate transactions, including structuring, due diligence, negotiation, preparation of transaction documents and addressing post-transaction implementation issues.
He has acted on the buy-, sell- and investor-side of a vast array of transactions, for and alongside multinationals, listed entities, family business owners, syndicates, venture capital funds and private equity firms.
Luke advises participants in the start-up ecosystem, including founders, investors, start-ups and accelerators. Luke leads Jackson McDonald’s involvement in Spacecubed’s Plus Eight Start Up Accelerator Program, a WA focused seed-funded accelerator.
Luke’s work also includes advising many Indigenous businesses and entrepreneurs on the structure, formation and operation of joint ventures around Australia.
Adopting a practical and pragmatic approach, Luke works closely with many privately owned businesses and investors doing business in or from Western Australia, including entrepreneurs, sporting organisations and foreign companies on a range of matters, including commercial contracts, financing, joint ventures, compliance, and governance.
Luke’s experience spans various sectors, including mining services, technology, renewables and clean energy, construction, agribusiness, syndicated property assets, mining camps, start-ups, hotel and tourism assets.
