Malcolm connects Jackson McDonald's expertise with opportunities across the defence sector, drawing on his national network of executive relationships. He has relocated to be based in Melbourne and supports the firm’s engagement Australia-wide.
He is most recently known for his central role from 2017 to 2025 in brokering and delivering the $2-$4 billion SEA1180 Offshore Patrol Vessel project - one of Australia's largest naval acquisition programs. Most recently, Malcolm served as Managing Director of Luerssen Australia.
Prior to his executive career in defence, he was a Managing Partner at a Melbourne commercial law firm where he led a prominent defence industry legal practice and played key roles in multiple major defence acquisition programs.
He also founded Constructive Edge Inc. a global corporate advisory firm which since the 1990’s has assisted defence and aerospace contractors around the world successfully implement their contracts and local industry partnerships
His unique background gives him an unusually intensive and practical understanding of both the commercial and legal dimensions of complex defence contracting and project delivery.
