Jackson McDonald Partner, Isla McRobbie, has been awarded the Architects Board Award 2025, recognising her outstanding contribution to the architecture profession and broader community.

The prestigious award acknowledges individuals whose leadership, advocacy and personal contributions have enhanced public awareness of, and confidence in, the profession.

Isla’s career reflects a unique and highly regarded intersection of architecture and law. A former practising architect, she has built a distinguished legal career as a construction lawyer, supporting clients across the built environment while maintaining a strong and ongoing commitment to the architectural profession.

Over more than a decade, Isla has made a significant contribution to the Architects Board of Western Australia, including serving as its first female Chair. Her leadership has played an important role in advancing professional standards and supporting the evolution of the industry.

In addition to her governance contributions, Isla is a passionate mentor to emerging architects and professionals across the construction sector. She has been a consistent advocate for education, accessibility and the development of future talent within the profession.

Through her role at Jackson McDonald, Isla continues to support architects and industry participants, including providing pro bono guidance to members of the profession.

In accepting the award, Isla reflected on the collaborative nature of architecture and the importance of giving back to the profession and the community.

Her continued dedication to supporting others and strengthening the industry highlights the values that underpin both her career and Jackson McDonald’s commitment to the sectors it serves.
