Developed in collaboration with senior in-house leaders, Counsel Connect is a Jackson McDonald program focused on fostering meaningful conversations around the challenges and opportunities facing the in-house profession in Western Australia and beyond. The launch of the podcast marks the next evolution of the initiative, extending its reach beyond in-person events.
Hosted by Jackson McDonald Partner, Marcus Pullen, the Counsel Connect podcast explores topical issues at the intersection of law, business, policy and public interest. Each episode features insights from respected legal and business leaders who are shaping Western Australia’s regulatory, commercial and institutional landscape.
The inaugural episode features Dr Tony Buti MLA, Minister for Commerce; Tertiary and International Education; Multicultural Interests; and Attorney General. In a candid conversation, Dr Buti reflects on his legal journey and shares his perspective on the evolving and increasingly important role of in-house counsel within Western Australia’s legal system, drawing on his experience as both a practitioner and policy maker.
The podcast complements the firm’s existing Counsel Connect events by creating an accessible platform for ongoing engagement with the in-house community.
Marcus Pullen says: “The Counsel Connect podcast provides a unique platform for important conversations about issues that matter for in-house legal counsel. I hope the podcast will help give a voice to, and shine the spotlight on, our in-house colleagues who play a critical but often undervalued role in the legal profession.”
The Counsel Connect podcast is available now on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, with new episodes to be released throughout the year.
